Twenty countries have secured their place at the first ever Gamers8 IESF Asian Championships
From July 10-17, the International Esports Federation will host the first ever Gamers8 IESF Asian Championship, with 20 countries aiming to qualify for World Esports Championship Finals. This includes those from Oceania.
The Gamers8 IESF Asian Championship will take place at the Saudi Esports Arena, co-hosted with the Saudi Esports Federation and Gamers8. This will be the final regional qualifier for IESF 2023 and some of the best gamers in the region will compete to earn a spot at 2023 World Esports Championship Finals, Iasi, Romania.
The initial round of qualifying matches, which took place online between May 1 and 21, saw 33 countries compete in four games: CS:GO Dota 2 PUBG Mobile and Mobile Legends Bang Bang.
The following countries have qualified for the Gamers8 IESF Asian Championship:
CS:GO: Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Iran, Palestine, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, Pakistan, Australia, Saudi Arabia
Mobile Legends – Bang Bang! Kazakhstan Mongolia UAE Cambodia Philippines Nepal Bangladesh Saudi Arabia
DOTA 2: Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Jordan, Myanmar, Philippines, India, Australia, Saudi Arabia
CS:GO Women: Kyrgyzstan, Hong Kong (China), India, Australia, Saudi Arabia
PUBG Mobile: (Direct Qualification to the WE Championship Finals). Kyrgyzstan. Brunei Darussalam. Mongolia. Philippines.
Vlad Marinescu, President of the ESF, said: “Congratulations to all the countries who have qualified for this historic first-ever Gamers8 IESF Asian Championship. We are excited to host this event with the Saudi Esports Federation in Riyadh to deliver an unforgettable tournament. “This is the last stop on the way to Iasi and we are proud of World Esports Family’s fierce competition throughout the qualifiers.”
IESF appointed HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar Bin Sultan, who is also the Chairman of SEF, as its Statutory vice president, signaling IESF’s progress in expanding its reach globally and its dedication to its mission, which is uniting World Esports Family. Gamers8, which is the largest esports festival in the world, will collaborate with IESF to unite the World Esports Family. This will contribute to the rapid development of esports within Saudi Arabia.
