British Esports is delighted to announce that it will be working with Dell Technologies for two years to promote grassroots esports.
The partnership will promote esports to be a forward-thinking, accessible and inclusive industry. The partnership will focus on esports’ ability to foster 21st century skills, innovative education, and career paths that drive economic development across a range of related industries, including science, technology and engineering (STEM), creative and digital industry, sports, and beyond.
Dell Technologies and Intel are now the official Technology and Hardware Partners, and Alienware is the official supplier of high-performance gaming PCs and peripherals (powered by Intel(r), Core(tm), processors for British Esports and Sunderland’s National Esports Performance Centre.
British Esports, a federation of esports that is renowned around the world, is thrilled to welcome other leading organisations who are passionate about esports. British Esports, with a commitment to excellence and a focus on the future of education and esports in the United Kingdom, is aiming for a group of five official partners as well as five official suppliers. This collaborative effort brings together like-minded leaders in the industry to drive innovation and have a lasting effect on the UK’s esports scene.
British Esports, Dell and Intel have joined forces to survey students aged 11-17 years old about their technology-learning experiences*. They also asked them what 21st century skills they need for future education or career paths.
The majority of 700 students who were surveyed (56%), strongly or somewhat agreed, that combining esports qualifications with other subjects will increase their chances of getting into university.
59% of respondents also believed that a similar qualification would give them practical experience in a particular industry. A 52% of respondents also agreed that a qualification in esports would give them the skills they need to excel in STEM subjects.
The students also recognized that integrating esports in the curriculum goes beyond these points, and opens up opportunities to those who might not excel at traditional academic subjects. Students also stressed that esports will help them stand out in the application process for higher education and provide transferable skills. This will enhance their overall educational experience.
These insights shed more light on the transformative effect of esports. They show how it can help students develop and refine 21st century skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving and communication.
Esports also fosters community and inclusion by promoting social interactions, leadership, and competition. Students can learn through esports and gain valuable skills for their future academic and professional endeavors.
