RubyPlay has recently released the industry’s latest slot mechanic, Immortal ways. Its intuitive and unique gameplay has already dominated the charts.
We spoke with Dr. Eyal Lóz, the Chief Product Officer of the studio, about the development of Immortal ways, why it is so popular among players, and what the future holds for the mechanic.
Thank you for joining us, Dr. Eyal. Could you please explain to us the Immortal Ways mechanic, and what makes it different from other games on the market?
Eyal loz (EL) : It’s my pleasure! Immortal Ways is a design that seamlessly combines different core elements into one design. In all base games, two Hold and Respin arrays remain persistent. Upgrade wheels feature instant prizes and jackpots. This game has 10,000 ways to win and a feature where all prizes that land on the screen will be won.
What inspired Immortal Ways to be created?
ELWe noticed a market gap for a game of quality with 10,000 winning ways. The industry also lacked a volatile persistent layout for a large Hold and Respin array. By combining these elements with an upgrade wheel, we realized that this would provide us with the winning recipe for a killer gameplay mechanic.
What are the elements that Immortal ways titles use to engage and retain players?
EL The constant nature of Hold and Respin zones in the base game encourages players to play for longer periods, completing and winning all prizes in each zone.
Every few dozen random spins, the screen returns to its initial state of being empty. This is a method that has been proven in casual game design. This cycle provides a natural way out for players. The looping design ensures that players are able to end their gameplay before exhaustion and will be eager to return in the future for more experiences.
How can you ensure that a new mechanic will cater to the different preferences of players?
EL The beauty of Immortal ways is that it integrates a few core elements into a single, unified flow. We have developed a series of games that are all different in style and theme to ensure the mechanic is accessible to the largest audience. Immortal Ways is now available to all slots enthusiasts. Immortal Ways Diamonds has performed well in different markets since its launch, demonstrating its appeal to a broad range of players.
Could you give us some insight into the design process of Immortal Ways game?
EL The whole process has been collaborative. We had to look at our existing content library and combine that with feedback from operators and players. It’s much easier to get to the point when you listen to all of that feedback with an open heart and mind. We have a clear understanding of what works and what needs to be left on the drawing board.
What upcoming titles will feature the Immortal Ways mechanism? What can we expect from this franchise?
ELWe have a lot of new content coming from the Immortal Ways series! Expect a wide variety of themes, tweaks, and variations. The core elements, such as the Hold and Respin arrays, instant prize wheels, and 10,000 ways to Win, are all here to stay. We have some crazy new ideas for all the other game elements.
Seven games are in development and will be released over the next few months. We have already launched a buffalo-themed game. Operators have also requested bespoke versions for our Immortal Ways game. Watch this space to find out when they will be available later this year.
