This January, the UK’s largest gaming industry conference Pocket Gamer Connects will be in London. It has also announced its partnership with GamesForest. Club innovative non-profit organization that raises awareness about the importance of nature restoration in the games industry. This project will change the way that the games industry views sustainability. This project is innovative and aims to restore nature through the power of gaming. It also aims at highlighting the importance of sustainable business travel.
Pocket Gamer Connects is the event to be at. It’s a must-attend event that brings together the best game developers, publishers, investors, and service providers from around the world. This event brings together the most influential thought leaders from the industry.
GamesForest.Club is based in Berlin. The founders have a rich history in the gaming sector, having co-founded Phoenix Games and heading games:net Berlin-Brandenburg. Games Forest is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the green gaming industry. Its projects include reforestation, forest protection and other environmental initiatives. 52 companies have signed up to the initiative to help carbon absorption through planting trees and protecting forests. Games Forest’s community planted more than 73 000 trees in a very short time and has protected over 1.4 million square meters of forest.
Jiri Kupiainen (CEO of Matchmade, ambassador for Games Forest Club) launches the “10 Weeks to Save the Games Industry” social media challenge. She will be traveling with Maria Wagner, Cofounder of GamesForest.Club to Europe to visit game shows and hotspots. This will raise awareness about sustainable business travel, and show how industry thought leaders address the most pressing issues facing the industry. Their trip will highlight the importance of ethical travel that is sustainable, and reveal what game companies are doing in order to make a positive impact on the environment. Pocket Gamer Connects is the official media partner for this movement. The event will be one stop on their sustainable trip.

Pocket Gamer Connects London will be taking to the stage on the 23rd & 24th of January. It is expected to attract more than 2,000 people worldwide. PGC London 2023 will be home to more than 900 companies from technology and mobile gaming, including Google, Sony Pictures, Disney, and Meta.
