Abhinav Tjan and Ibrahim Gulrez, two of India’s top Esports talent, will proudly represent the country and compete for glory in the 15 World Esports Championships, which begins on August 26th, in Iasi, Romania. Tejan will compete in the Tekken 7 game, while Gulrez will fight it out for a piece of the $500,000 prize pool (INR 4,12 crore) in eFootball.
Tejan, who will be representing India at this prestigious event for the sixth consecutive time, will start his campaign on the first day of group stage against Turkmenistan Egypt and Colombia. On the second day, the well-known athlete who won the South Asia Regional Finals for the Tekken World Tour and the India Premiership 2020 this year will face Bulgaria and Turkey. The Tekken7 matches in the group stage will be played using a best-of-3 format
Abhinav said that representing India at the World Esports Championships was always an honor. I’ve been studying my competitors, analyzing their play patterns and trying to find ways to counteract their strategies. I am aware of the fierce competition and the responsibility I have as I represent my country. I want to show the world the potential that Indian Esports has by winning the gold medal .”
Gulrez, one of the rising stars in eFootball will be eager to show his skills at his first tournament. Gulrez will face Kazakhstan, Portugal and Mali in the first round before facing Uruguay and Belgium the following day. The eFootball group stage matches are played in a best-of-2 format.
The top three athletes from each group will advance to the playoffs.

I want to prepare myself mentally and physically to face some of the world’s best players and to give my all in order to win ,” , said Ibrahim Gulrez.
The two athletes have secured their berths at the 15 th World Championships by amazingly winning the National Esports Championships 2023 organized by the Esports Federation of India.
Both Abhinav Gulrez and Ibrahim Tejan have fought their way to the top by displaying a champion spirit and high quality gameplay.
