Global Esports Federation has participated in the 10th Commonwealth Youth Ministers’ Meeting in London (#10CYMM), and the United Nations’ 78th General Assembly in New York City (#UNGA78). The GEF actively supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goals #GlobalGoals and emphasizes its commitment to youth empowerment, a more connected and interconnected world.
The GEF demonstrated its commitment to #GlobalGoals at the UN headquarters by engaging with world youth, leaders and organizations. The GEF highlighted the importance of empowering youth to make a positive impact on society.
The GEF, as a partner in #SDGdigital and with the ITU Secretary-General, Doreen badn-Martin, presented the GameChangers Award to youth-led organizations that have innovative solutions to societal challenges.
It was truly inspirational to share the messages from our community with New York City and London this week. We met world leaders and members from our global community and we shared the message that gaming, esports, and social media can be powerful forces for positive change, especially for our youth. Many of us are online, but there are 2.6 billion who aren’t. Paul J. “The GEF is dedicated to working with global partners to unlock the potential of esports to create a better future for everyone in our global community,” said Paul J. Foster, CEO of Global Esports Federation said.
Adrian Lismore joined Patricia Scotland KC (Rt Hon Patricia Scotland KC), Commonwealth Secretary-General at the 10th Commonwealth Youth Ministers’ Meeting held in London. In the Ministerial Statement, it was acknowledged that “the Global Esports Federation is a welcome partner and we are pleased to work with them to develop projects and initiatives.”
Over 400 delegates attended the summit, including Ministers, Senior Officials and Governments, as well as youth leaders. The purpose of the summit was to ratify Marlborough House Commitment in order to inspire hope among Commonwealth Youth.
The Commonwealth Youth Ministers welcomed partnerships with the GEF and acknowledged the potential for esports to drive youth engagement, innovation, and economic growth. The Commonwealth Youth Ministers also acknowledged the importance of start-ups in generating employment, innovation, and technological advancement. They pledged support for their growth.
