A new Optimove report reveals online players’ behavior and preferences: a guide for iGaming operators to drive player loyalty and reduce marketing fatigue

Optimove has released the highly anticipated 2023 Report on Players’ Preferences for iGaming Marketing. This comprehensive study provides valuable insights into online gamblers’ preferences and behaviors, as well as actionable recommendations to gaming sites looking to increase player loyalty.

Based on the responses of 396 U.S. citizens, who are avid online gamblers. The report explores various aspects of online gaming, including industry trends, motivations for players, and strategies to retain and engage them.


Key Findings of the Report:

Player loyalty The report highlights that competitive odds (40%) and a user-friendly GUI (23%) are the main drivers of player loyalties. It highlights the importance of creating an attractive gaming environment.

Marketing Fatigue: According to the study, 86% of players have unsubscribed from websites. Nearly one-third (30%) of players find that the frequency of promotional emails from iGaming providers is overwhelming. Personalization and relevancy are also key factors in keeping players engaged. Respondents said that the relevancy of a promotion is what most encourages them to open an operator’s communication.

Responsible Gaming: Tools for responsible gambling have been identified as a way to boost trust and loyalty among 75% of players. This shows the importance of responsible gaming measures within the industry.

The survey showed that 56% of respondents were gambling every day, while 85% gambled weekly. The most popular activity was sports betting, which 76% of respondents preferred.
