SPRIBE, the studio that created Aviator (the number one crash game on the planet), is located in London. The game is played by over 10 million people every month. As a result, the developer was able to sign an exclusive partnership with UFC to launch the game in North America.
SPRIBE has announced a new marketing campaign in collaboration with Alex Pereira, the current Light Heavyweight champion. Giorgi Tsutskiridze is the CCO of SPRIBE. We spoke with him to find out more.
You just announced a partnership with Brazilian MMA legend Alex Pereira, UFC Champion. What is the deal?
We are thrilled to welcome Alex on board as the brand ambassador of Aviator . Aviator is our flagship title, and it’s the number one crash-game in the world. It has more than 10,000,000 players each month. Alex is a legendary fighter in the MMA. He is currently the Light Heavyweight champion and was previously the Middleweight Champion. Aviator’s knockout experience will be enjoyed by his loyal fanbase, who are well-known and have a high profile. Alex will take part in several creative campaigns to help promote Aviator to his fans and UFC followers.
What was the deal that Alex and you made? You have a relationship with UFC already?
We do. In October of last year, we announced the partnership between SPRIBE & UFC. Aviator’s logo and branding will appear at UFC Fight Nights, Pay Per View and other events in the Octagon over the course of the multi-year contract. The agreement also includes a fund for brand ambassadors that will allow us to use UFC athletes like Alex to promote Aviator. This is a first-of-its kind deal between a video game studio and an elite sports organization. We have some exciting plans for maximising the potential of this collaboration.
The UFC is popular around the world, but especially in North America. Does this deal suggest that SPRIBE wants to target the North American market?
North America is on our radar since a while now. Aviator will be available to as many players in regulated markets as possible. Over the next 12 months, we will be focusing our efforts on North and South America. We already have a strong market presence in Europe and Asia. Aviator will be able to reach a wider audience in the US, and other markets around the world, thanks to the partnership with UFC. We agree that the UFC is an international sport. This partnership will help Aviator gain a greater profile around the globe.
Casinos are increasingly sponsoring sports teams, events and organizations. What is the potential here?
There is a huge crossover between sports and online casino games. Aviator is a great example of this, as it has its roots in video and mobile gaming. This makes it appealing to a wider audience than traditional slot and casino games. Aviator is a popular game with Millennials and Generation Z, who are fans of sports like Formula One, football and snooker, as well as fight sports. Sports are popular around the world, and there is a great opportunity to put your brand, or in this case, your game, in front millions of potential customers in an authentic way.
Since its debut in 2018, Aviator has been a huge success. What has been the key to its success?
Aviator is the first casino-based game based on popular crash games found in mobile and video gaming. The crypto-gambling industry was beginning to embrace it, and the SPRIBE team has been watching this space closely. We took a chance and built a casino based on the format. We tweaked the gameplay to deliver a seamless mobile experience and be able to be rolled out in regulated markets all over the world. We added elements to make the game stand out, like being multi-player and allowing players to chat during their session.
Aviator may be a simple, but addictive game. It is this simplicity that makes it so exciting and fun. More than 10,000,000 players take to the skies every month, testing their nerves against the ever-increasing win multiplier.
