ESL, a brand of ESL FACEIT Group, has announced that the next ESL One Dota 2 Major powered by Intel(r), will be held in Berlin Germany on April 26-May 7, 2023.
The competition will feature 18 of the best Dota 2 teams in the world. They will compete for a share of $500,000 and the chance to play at Velodrom’s final three days. The Major also gives the opportunity for competing teams to earn valuable Dota Pro Circuit points (DPC), which are required to qualify for The International 12 (TI 12), the renowned Dota 2 Championship.
Shane Clarke, Director Game Ecosystems for ESL FACEIT Group said that “We are thrilled to welcome the best Dota 2 teams from around the world to Berlin for what promises will be a spectacular Major.” “Last year’s ESL One Stockholm Major saw incredible support from fans all over Europe and beyond. We are eager to see the best players take the stage at Velodrom, and experience that amazing atmosphere again.”
Dota 2 teams representing Eastern Europe, Western Europe and South America can expect a thrilling conclusion to the DPC Spring Tour 2022-2023. As they are eligible for the ESL One Dota 2 Major, the two to four top teams from each region will travel together to Berlin, Germany.
The ESL One Berlin Major begins on April 26th with the Group Stage. This stage uses a best of-2 round-robin format. The participating teams will be divided into two groups of nine teams, and compete in a studio setting. The six top teams from each group will advance to the Double-Elimination Playoff Stage, which is held in front of a live audience at Velodrom Berlin on May 5-7, 2023.
Fans around the world can tune in starting April 26 on ESL’s Dota 2 Twitch or YouTube channels, and via dedicated broadcast partners.
