Esports World Cup Begins on August 1 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Honor of Kings Open Series Split 2 Registration Begins on July 8, Honor of Kings Southeast Asia Championship Set for September
LGD Gaming Malaysia, the esports powerhouse of Honor of Kings, has been crowned champions of Season 2 of the Honor of Kings Invitational after beating Team Secret in grand finals. LGD Gaming Malaysia, the winners, will receive the largest prize pool of $300,000 USD and advance to the Honor of Kings Invitational midseason tournament, which will take place at the Esports World Cup between August 1 and 4, where 12 international teams compete for global dominance. Honor of Kings announced earlier this year a three-year agreement with the Esports World Cup Foundation, which will see the most popular MOBA in the world become a fixture of the event.
Esports World Cup, where they will battle for the lion’s share of US$ 3 million. There are two other qualifying slots among the teams participating in the Esports World Cup. One is for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and goes to Team Falcons, who qualified via the EWC Saudi Qualifier. The second qualification slot goes Weibo Gaming Malaysia who advanced through the EWC Last Chance Qualifier. Two invites are available – the first is an all-star lineup of players from King’s Pro League and Chinese Honor of Kings Pro League. The second represents Southeast Asia, which will be determined by the Honor of Kings Southeast Asia Showdown. BOOM Esports(Philippines)and Rex Regum Qeon (Indonesia) will compete in Honor of Kings Southeast Asia Showdown for the final slot in Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason.
The Honor of Kings Invitational Season 2 is the second tournament of the Honor of Kings Global Invitational Series. This esports circuit was launched earlier this year along with its $15M commitment to grow the Honor of Kings International esports eco-system. Honor of Kings Open Series, a path-to-profession circuit, was also launched as part of the initiative. Players can show off their skills and compete against some of the best teams in the world. Registration for the Honor of Kings Open Series Split 2 begins on July 8, and ends July 19. Regional finals will be held in September.
Honor of Kings is also launching the Honor of Kings Southeast Asia Championship to include teams from the area as part of its long-term commitment of investing in the growth of the esports ecosphere. Later, more information will be released about the Honor of Kings Southeast Asia Championship.
