International Game Technology PLC has announced that Renato Acoli, IGT Global Lottery CEO, will be inducted as a Class of 2024 member into the Lottery Industry Hall of Fame. Ascoli will receive his award at an event held by the Public Gaming Research Institute in conjunction with World Lottery Summit, in Paris.
Renato Ascoli, a senior executive with nearly 20 years’ experience in the gaming and lottery industries, has played a key role in driving innovation and new business. Renato Ascoli has the ability to recognize and achieve business growth opportunities. His contributions will benefit lottery industry for many years to come. IGT congratulates Renato for his well-deserved inclusion in this year’s Lottery Industry Hall of Fame”, Vince Sadusky said, CEO of IGT.

Ascoli’s current role includes responsibility for the global lottery and iLottery business, as well as product and sales development and support to IGT’s 90+ lottery customers around the world. Ascoli has led the Global Lottery business unit and the Global Gaming division of the Company since the merger between GTECH and IGT took place in 2015. Ascoli’s key achievements include launching sports betting in partnership with the Rhode Island Lottery and partnering with Mississippi Lottery in order to launch operations. He has also deployed lottery terminals at Walmart retail stores as well as rolled out IGT Cash Pop, which is live in more than 15 jurisdictions.
Ascoli was previously General Manager of GTECH S.p.A., (formerly known by the names Lottomatica Group S.p.A. and Lottomatica S.p.A. ), and President of GTECH Products and Services. He was responsible for the design, development and delivery of cutting-edge platforms, products and services. Renato was also Head of Italian Operation, where he was in charge of the strategic direction of the Company’s Italian business.
During Ascoli’s tenure as the leader of Lottomatica (one of the largest lottery companies in the world), he sustained the launch in Italy of the Gratta e Vinci instant ticket brand. He was also instrumental in the consortium led by IGT Lottoitalia S.r.l. gaining exclusive Lotto concessions in Italy. The Italian Lotto and its associated games 10eLotto or MillionDAY are some of the most popular games in Italy.
The Lottery Industry Hall of Fame, founded in 2005 by PGRI, honors those who have contributed the most to the success of the lottery industry. The Hall of Fame is open to lottery professionals who have demonstrated excellence and integrity in their career. Former inductees vote and nominate the final recipients each year.
