If you want to create an Egyptian-themed game, you must still recognize that it is fundamentally Egyptian. This includes the gods and hieroglyphs. Is there a new way to spin the story that is tied to the mechanic? Doing market research is essential to finding common themes that can be utilised, but also to avoid.
From a visual perspective, what impact does localisation make on the development of games?
We are always looking for ways to localise Gaming Corps. Sometimes we want to create tailored games to a specific market. Particularly when working with casino partners for bespoke content. In 2023, for example, we developed a game called ” RAMEN Puzzle“, which was launched in Japan with a casino partner. We were very keen to find the right anime style for this market. Research, development and iteration on our designs was an important part of the design cycle.
Samba Soccer was another product launched this year that was designed with Brazil in the mind. The game had a style that was popular in the market, but it also had a theme that made Rio de Janeiro its setting. The visual combination of the game allowed it to be localised for this market.
What do you think the future trends will be that impact on the design and look of online slots?
Over the years, more and more people have shifted from desktop gaming to mobile, especially mobile portrait. We will always feel that designing with a first-class mobile approach should be the focus of everything we do at Gaming Corps. This trend will, I think, continue upwards. It has a huge impact on how slot games feel and look. There is a limited space, with many elements vying for room.
