DreamHack India is taking place from 15-17 November, in conjunction with the Hyderabad Comic Con
DreamHack India is celebrating its fifth birthday this year. It has become a major event on India’s gaming calendar. The festival offers LAN tournaments in multiple esports games, cosplay contests, tech exhibits, meet and greet sessions with content creators and streaming stars, as well as the popular BYOD zones.
From November 15-17, NODWIN Gaming will host DreamHack x Hyderabad Comic Con – the largest pop culture festival in the country.
Here is a list of tournaments that will be held this year. They are spread over three days, and the prize pools total more than INR 45 lakh.
1. Snapdragon Pro Series (SPS)
Title : Call of Duty Mobile (COD-M)
Prize pool: 24 lakhs INR
The number of teams is 6
The Snapdragon Pro Series, which is one of the most popular events at the event will feature the intense competition between six professional teams competing for the largest prize pool of INR 24 lakh at a LAN Tournament in India.
2. OMEN Campus Quest Season 2
Title : Valorous
Prize pool: 5 lakhs INR
The number of teams is 6
This VALORANT competition is for tactical shooters. The nation’s top six campus teams will be competing to win glory. The winners will receive INR 3 lakh, the runners-up INR 1 lakh, and the third and fourth place teams INR 50,000.
3. PAN FEST
Title: Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI)
Prize pool : INR 2,4 lakh
Format: 8 lobbies per day
Maps of Erangel and Miramar
PAN FEST, the ultimate battleground, is open to all BGMI fans. It features daily action in eight lobbies with INR 10,000 for the winner. The tournament is open to all players on a first come, first served basis. Players will have to register at the venue.
4. KO Fight Night
Titles Tekken 8, Super Mario Bros Ultimate and Street Fighter VI
Prize pool: INR 4 5 lakh
Format : Double elimination bracket system, 1v1 matches
KO Fight Night, the oldest fighting games tournament in existence, will be held at DreamHack x Hyderabad Comic Con this year. The tournament will include three titles, and be held in a double-elimination format.
Tekken 8 is the lion’s share of KO Fight Night’s prize pool. It will provide INR 3.6 lakh. The winner will receive INR 1.6 lakh, and the runner up INR 80,000. The game will have 128 players. All matches are played using a three-match format. Grand Finals are played using a five-match format.
Super Mario Bros Ultimate features a prize pool worth INR 60,000. The winner will receive INR 30,000. All matches will take place in a Best-of-three format, within a single-elimination bracket system. Matches from the Top 4 are best-of-5.
The prize pool for Street Fighter VI is INR 30,000. This will be distributed in INR 10,000 per day over three days. The 32 players will be spread across three days, and all matches will be played as a best-of-3 format. The matches from the Top 8 up to the Grand Finals are best of five. At the Grand Finals, the bracket is reset and the match will be played as a showdown in best of five.
5. Chess Championship
Title : Chess
Prize pool: 5 lakhs INR
Format : Rapid and Blitz
DreamHack x Hyderabad Comic Con offers chess in two formats – Rapid and Blitz. Chess enthusiasts can expect intense brain battles with the Blitz format. Rapid, a longer format with games lasting more than 15 minute, will account for INR 3 lakh in the prize pool. The Blitz format, on the other side, consists of shorter games between 3 and 10 minutes. It will contribute INR 2 lakh to the prize pool.
6. Bring Your Own Device
Categories : Mobile, PC and Console
Prize pool: Rs. 4.4 lakh
BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), a segment of the event, allows players to compete with their own devices in a variety of games. PC titles include a prize pool totaling INR 2.4 lakh, which includes FPS games, Rocket League, Brawlhalla, THE FINALS and Spectre Divide.
Prize pools of INR 1.4 Lakh will be available for mobile titles such as eFootball (popular battle royale title), World Cricket Championship 3(WCC 3), Rocket League Side Swipe, and other popular titles. Prize pools for console games will be INR 60,000, with games such as Tekken 8, Street Fighter 3, WWE and FIFA.
7. Retro Board Games
Table Top and Retro Zones
Prize pool: 95,000 INR
Retro and board games tournaments offer a nostalgic break from the intense esports competitions.
Monopoly will be available, as well as Ludo and Carrom.
Retro Zone features Tekken, Contra, Pacman and Tetris on PlayStation 1.
