Guild Esports, an esports team organisation, is co-owned and managed by David Beckham. Today, Guild Studios was launched. This new division of production and creative services provides innovative campaign-led solutions to media owners and brands looking to connect with esports and gaming audiences.
Guild Studios offers end-to-end creative and production services as well as consultations in esports marketing to media owners, brands, and agencies. Guild’s launch of Studios allows it to make a profit from its in-house expertise in Esports marketing by providing support for sponsors and brand owners with esports marketing solutions that resonate with young audiences Guild interacts with every day.
This campaign-led approach is separate from the sale of branding rights to Guild assets and IP. Guild has endless opportunities to promote new and innovative forms of engagement. Guild Studios’ state-of the-art facility in Shoreditch, which houses a dedicated content editing suite and streaming rooms, and its connection with the UK gaming community via its Academy, College, and world-renowned professionals, makes it uniquely placed to be the leading agency for gaming and esports briefs.
The Guild Studios campaigns aim to reach younger audiences better than traditional advertising. Gen-Alpha, which is anyone born after 2010, makes up 94% of Gen-Alpha. Gen-Z consumers are more interested in gaming IP than they are playing it. 53% of Gen-Z gamers spend their time engaging with IP other than playing.
The Company’s new revenue stream is based on secured campaigns and projects with top brands, including Samsung Mobile. These campaigns have generated six-figure combined revenue for the Company.
To support the launch at Westfield White City of the Samsung Galaxy S23 on 16 and 17 Feb 2023, Guild Studios collaborated with Samsung. Guild organized an event for influencer talent, which was followed by a Roll-Up Mobile Esports Day on 25 February, to show off the Galaxy S23’s powerful gaming capabilities.
This is the third partnership between Guild and Samsung. Since June 2021, Samsung Display has been Guild’s Official Display Partner. Samsung TV/AV has been Guild’s Official TV Partner for the UK and Ireland.
Jasmine Skee is the CEO of Guild Esports. “Creating new revenues streams and creating value for investors are our key objectives for 2023. Guild Studios allows us to make money from our extensive in-house expertise in Esports. We support sponsors and brand owners with innovative campaigns, branded content, and advertising to a variety of companies looking for ways to increase their engagement.
“We were thrilled to partner with Samsung in the launch of the Galaxy S23. “This is the third time they have partnered us since June 2021 when they became a major sponsor. This highlights the strength of our value proposition, and our ability to reach otherwise difficult-to-reach Gen Z and Gen-Alpha consumers.”
Nick Westwood is Senior Vice-President for Creative and Strategy at Guild. He said: “If there’s one thing young people have in common it’s that they play video games. Gaming is the entertainment sector that brands can guarantee resonance in, as they push to reach youth demographics. Guild Studios was created to offer brands and media owners our audience, expertise and growing delivery team. We are a unique rights holder, producer, and network which allows us to deliver immediate results. We have brought in six-figure revenues from this sales process since mid-January, proving the market opportunity.
