BeyondPlay is a B2B startup that develops next-generation engagement software to online gaming operators. It has now raised an additional EUR5M (EUR).
The round was led Betor Capital, an American early-stage venture capital firm that focuses on technology and software providers in the real money gambling industry.
Additional backing is provided by Tigrim Cap, Winforton Investors, and other firms. This funding complements reinvestment from existing investors. Alexandre Tomic, Feda Mecan and Mark Blandford, all industry veterans, were also part of the round. They are well-known for their investment success in successful ventures such as Alea Gaming and BlueRibbon.
After the funding round, BeyondPlay’s board was strengthened by the addition David VanEgmond to the already strong line-up, which also includes Daniel Burns and Oakvale Capital.
BeyondPlay will use the investment to fund its ongoing product development program. It will deliver the final phase in its innovative Multiplayer software, and expand the product offering with new features.
Funds will also be used to support the expansion of BeyondPlay ahead of multiple operator launches in 2023/24. They will also drive market expansion with a special focus on North American jurisdictions.
Karolina, founder and CEO of BeyondPlay said that this was another significant milestone for BeyondPlay and that it is gratifying to have the support and confidence of such knowledgeable and reputable investors.
“Better Capital’s strategic expertise combined with the mindsets and experiences of some of the most successful serial entrepreneurs in the industry will propel our growth to new heights.
BeyondPlay’s hard work and dedication are evident in our success in exceeding our funding target. Innovation is about taking risks. I’m happy to see that both existing and new investors recognize and trust our growing momentum in product and client launches.
David VanEgmond is the founder and CEO of Bettor Capital. He said: “BeyondPlay keeps innovating, developing exciting technology to support the online casino market. Through jackpots and new multiplayer capabilities, the company’s software offers more engaging and fun experiences for consumers. This makes any content available to friends.
“We are delighted to support BeyondPlay’s team, which includes a founder and leader of the online casino space, Karolina. As the company moves on to its next steps, we are thrilled.”
BeyondPlay obtained a Remote Casino Operator and Gambling Software Licence (British Gambling Commission) in March 2023. This was in addition to the Critical Supply Licence (Malta Gaming Authority) that the start-up had held since December 2022. As the start-up prepares to launch its first operator, further licence applications are ongoing.
