World Pool, one of the world’s largest commingled racing pools, was created by the Hong Kong Jockey Club and reached new heights at Newmarket on 2000 Guineas Day. The turnover increased from PS26.1 to PS27.1 millions, a significant increase.
On the Rowley Mile it was a memorable race day, as World Pool ambassador Frankie Dettori won his fourth 2000 Guineas in the colours and colors of late Prince Khalid Abdullah on Chaldean. With nearly PS4.7million bet in the pool, the 2000 Guineas was the most profitable race on the eight-race program.
Pool betting operators in 28 countries are now betting into World Pool. This allows racing fans around the world to bet on one pool. The result is a huge amount of liquidity and great value.
World Pool Moment of the Day
The funding for World Pool Moment of the Day was increased in 2023. PS4,000 was given to the winning groom. Chetan Singh of Chaldean was the recipient of the prize.
Singh, along with the 24 other global Moment of the Day Winners in 2023, will be entered into the World Pool Moment of the Year Competition. The winner of this competition could win a VIP trip to Hong Kong for four in 2024.
