Betway, Nigeria’s leading online gaming and entertainment brand, has a major impact on entrepreneurs and small-business owners in Lagos. The brand announced that it would provide solar-powered kiosks for 10 Fintech Point of Sale (POS) operators to help them grow their business. The company is committed to supporting small businesses in Nigeria.
Solar-powered kiosks, which are designed to provide Fintech POS Operators with reliable and efficient electricity supply, come equipped with a panel and an inverter. The kiosks will allow them to carry out their transactions easily and offer a better customer experience. They are weatherproof, and can withstand harsh conditions. This makes them ideal for any location.
Betway is at the forefront in Nigeria when it comes to supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs. In 2022 the company donated N5,000,000 worth of food and everyday products to flood-ravaged Bayelsa communities. The distribution was coordinated by Bayelsa State Emergency Management Agency, in collaboration with National Emergency Management Agency. CSR initiatives by the brand have had a positive impact on people’s lives in these communities.

Solar-powered kiosks help Fintech POS operators operate more efficiently, and better serve their customers.”
Otunba Olamuyiwa said, “Many POS operators don’t have enough shops or kiosks to run their business. Many of them are operating under umbrellas at the mercy and whim of the weather.” He said that the kiosks will bring a lot of benefits to the businesses and will help them thrive.
Betway received a thank you note from the Fintech POS operators that have received solar-powered kiosks. The kiosks, they said, have helped them improve their business and provide better service to their clients. The betting company was also praised for its commitment to support small businesses in Nigeria.
Larry, a Polytechnic Graduate who entered the POS Business because he couldn’t find employment following his graduation, said, “I’m still in shock and haven’t fully realised that I now have a modern kiosk to run my business.” I saw the video asking for any POS operators in Lagos in need to indicate this on Betway’s twitter handle. I took the leap of faith and asked friends to support me in order that I could be chosen. “I am grateful to Betway.
Dotun Adepegba is the Marketing Manager of Betway in Nigeria. He said that this initiative was in line with Betway’s Corporate Social Responsibility efforts (CSR), which support the development small businesses in Nigeria. According to him the company is dedicated to having a positive influence on the lives of the people in the communities in which they operate.
He said: “We didn’t stop with giving them kiosks to improve their businesses. We also made sure they completed a short training program in financial management that will enable them to run their business profitably.”
