Amber, a game development agency that specializes in gaming, has added more expertise to LAMINA1, a Layer 1 blockchain designed for open metaverse creators. Amber, a game development agency that has worked with entertainment and media giants such as Animoca and Sony, will bring its expertise to the LAMINA1 Blockchain via the Amber Merlin Blockchain Game Studio.
Amber founded Merlin Studio in order to improve the Web3 gaming space by leveraging its extensive knowledge of game development to create innovative Metaverse and blockchain experiences. The Merlin studio, with its hybrid teams of Game & Web3 professionals and several promising projects under development, is at the forefront of blockchain game development.
The LAMINA1 Enterprise Advisory Program (EAP) will be established in Spring 2023 to support developers, researchers and organizations while they develop, test and refine their LAMINA1 projects. EAP partners have access to future Testnets and developer kits. They also receive ongoing feedback and guidance from LAMINA1 as they continue to perfect the tooling of the LAMINA1 open metaverse.
Amber Merlin Studio was among the first developers to join the LAMINA1 EAP after its launch in early this year. This partnership brings together nearly 1,200 developers, producers and industry leaders to create gaming experiences. It marks a significant advancement for Amber’s Blockchain Game Vertical. The vertical uses blockchain technologies, game engines and multiple studios in order to explore a new Metaverse.
Amber Merlin Studio, in addition to its participation in EAP will also explore the use of the LAMINA1 Blockchain with an original title alongside the launch the LAMINA1 mainnet. This exciting new IP combines blockchain technology, AI and the concept of a composable Metaverse in a stealth project. In the coming months, more details will be revealed.
Amber’s Head Blockchain Games Marty Caplan is a 25-year veteran of the games industry with experience from Zynga and EA. He has also worked at Sega and Pixar.
EAP, which launched in 2023 Q1, has received more than 500 applications since then from companies and individuals who are building open metaverses. LAMINA1 plans to continue inducting Early Access Partners, as it moves towards the launch of Betanet & Mainnet this year.
Amber is in an exceptional position as a game studio. “They have made great games for major media and game companies – as well as building a strong blockchain games portfolio,” stated Jamil Moledina VP Games Partnerships & Media, LAMINA1. “They have worked hard to scale fun experiences for large audiences. This is in line with our vision about where the open Metaverse should be, as the next-generation Internet for all.”
