Under the slogan “Play Legally,” two regulated bookmaking firms in Poland, STS, and Fortuna have collaborated on a campaign against grey markets.
In order to highlight the message, footballers from Jagiellonia, Widzew Lodz and Zaglebie Lubinthe will wear special jerseys as part of this campaign. Also, LED perimeter screens will be changed during matches to promote the message.
The campaign runs from 12 to 15 May.
During the 32nd round, a national campaign will use the slogan. These measures aim to increase awareness about the growing problem of grey markets in Poland’s betting sector.
Mateusz Juroszek said, “By organizing a joint campaign we want to draw attention once again to the fact that a major problem for all legal bookmaking companies in Poland is the gray market, which grows year by year.
“We do appreciate and notice the actions taken by the government against companies operating in Poland without a license, but they are still insufficient in our opinion.”
Konrad Komarczuk said that the Fortuna President believes that more liberal legal regulations would lead to a dynamic growth of the Polish bookmaking market.
This would result in increased revenue for legal operators, the state budget, or sporting entities that are supported by betting companies who pay millions of dollars per year as sponsorship agreements.
