We can now look back on the 2023 Gaming in Spain Conference two weeks after it concluded. It was a highly successful event.
We were happy to see you there. We hope to see you again next year if you were unable to attend this year. We’ll be back in 2024, a date will be announced shortly!
We would like to also announce that we will be hosting a webinar on the regulated Spanish iGaming Market on Wednesday, 21st June, as a follow-up to this year’s Gaming in Spain Conference.
A look back at the 2023 Gaming in Spain Conference
We were delighted to host key decision makers from Spain’s regulated iGaming sector in Madrid for a day of networking and knowledge.
The keynote speech of Mr. Mikel Arana Director General of Spain’s National Gambling Regulator, DGOJ was a highlight of the event. He not only stressed that there must be clear communication between the industry and the regulator but also explained their new approach to responsible gambling:
“It’s very important that the DGOJ maintain contact with Spanish operators, even if they don’t always agree with us. We want to be able to explain to them why we take the regulatory decisions we do and what we hope to achieve together. […]
We have a completely new approach when it comes to protecting players. We have done this by treating players differently. By not letting the player protection criteria be determined by individual operators’ policies on social responsibility, but instead by setting a minimum standard .”
