Opera GX is all about customization and modding. Live Wallpapers, the first browser designed for gamers in the world, is a major step forward. This new feature turns your Windows desktop and browser into a game.
Opera GX has recently released browser Mods. This feature allows users to customize their browsers with unique themes and sounds, which change the look of websites in real-time. Live Wallpapers are mini-games created with the GameMaker Engine that react in real time to the mouse movements of the user. They change their appearance and evolve based on his actions. Opera GX gamifies both the browsing and desktop experience of Windows users.
Maciej Kocemba is the Product Director at Opera GX. He said, “Home is where the Heart is” and this is our goal for Live Wallpapers. Live Wallpapers helps users feel at home by allowing them to customize their own settings to suit their preferences, as well as interact with it at each step. Live Wallpapers transforms your desktop into an interactive game.
Mods are based on Opera’s GameMaker Engine and change how Opera GX looks, sounds and behaves. Users can create their own unique browsing experiences to match their gaming setup. Modify your browser to your liking and upload it for free on the GX.store. Wallpapers allow you to take the experience one step further by making your Windows desktop interactive and personal.
All Live Wallpapers in the GX.store can be downloaded for free.
Opera GX was the first browser designed for gamers. It has been around since 2004. We can now ship features like Mods, which not only alter the look and feel of the browser, but also the way websites are displayed. We’re taking Live Wallpapers a step forward today and allowing users the ability to modify their operating system,” said Kocemba.
Opera GX created a Mod for American YouTuber MrBeast to celebrate the launch and the fourth anniversary of this feature. MrBeast’s unique Live Wallpaper will be revealed live on his YouTube gaming channel, MrBeast, on the 6th of July.
All users of Windows and macOS can access Live Wallpapers with Opera GX. Windows users can modify their wallpaper. Users must join the Early Bird program in GX settings to set a Live Wallpaper for Windows. Users can select a Live Wallpaper from the Windows tray and apply it to Windows by interacting with the application. Users can access Live Wallpapers by downloading Opera GX and then visiting the GX store to install the wallpaper they want.
