LiveScore is a global sports media company and one of the leading providers of real-time updates and streaming services. It has appointed England women’s record cap holder Fara William as its brand ambassador for the Women’s World Cup.
The partnership was inspired by LiveScore’s audience data, which showed that women’s football fans were hungry for more details about the game. Five weekly columns will be published from Fara. This content will include a wealth breaking down the attributes of some of the top players and provide new fans with some statistics around women’s soccer that they may not have been aware of.
LiveScore audience insights showed that 57% of fans believe the level of detail and analysis around women’s football is still not comparable to men’s. In addition, 30% of fans want to know more about future stars. One in four would also like to have more details on the top players.
LiveScore users say they’d be more interested in watching the Women’s World Cup if there was more analysis and knowledge. 29% think they’d be more interested if Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo or their female equivalents were better known.
LiveScore’s research also showed that more than half of its audience planned to follow the women’s tournament in 2019, which is an increase from the World Cup 2019. LiveScore’s app has seen a steady increase in views and open rates for its women’s section. The app also provides real-time score data, WSL stories, and information about key matches.
Fara has an unmatched knowledge of the Australian & New Zealand betting market, which allows her to make some complex bets and uncover lesser-known stories. As part of her first project as a partner, Fara has predicted niche statistics that will play out during the competition. These include the most likely players who are to be given a yellow, tournament dark horses, and the best passers. LiveScore app and website users can access these predictions.
