Flexion’s games marketing company, GetApps has added Xiaomi’s official app store to its alternative marketplaces.
Flexion offers distribution and marketing services to game developers, giving them quick access to alternative apps stores. This allows them to quickly build audiences and revenue. The partnership with Xiaomi brings significant opportunities for games in Flexion’s portfolio.
Flexion CEO Jens Lauritzson says that “Xiaomi ranks among the leading mobile device manufacturers in many markets such as India and Europe.” They have a truly global reach. For our game developers, it is important to note that many Xiaomi smartphones are aimed at young people. This includes geeks and gamers.
Flexion’s strategy is to expand the channels of distribution it offers developers so that they are not reliant only on limited options. Flexion’s platforms help existing clients increase their revenue by an average of 10%. The developers get an extra revenue stream without any upfront costs or effort.
Flexion has a clear strategy and the partnership with Xiaomi was logical. Xiaomi is one the leading smartphone companies in the world. According to Canalys’ data, Xiaomi ranks No. 3 in the world for smartphone sales. In the first quarter 2023, MIUI’s MAU reached approximately 595 million globally. MIUI’s MAU will reach approximately 595 millions in March 2023. GetApps connects millions of developers to users, and it continues to grow. It has seen notable success in the most lucrative areas. The International Internet Business Department of Xiaomi announced at MWC Barcelona its “Go Global!” strategy for 2023. This also marked the expansion GetApps to more markets around the world.
We’re happy to partner with Flexion, and we’re excited to welcome new titles to Xiaomi’s GetApps. Chan Liu is the General Manager of Xiaomi’s International Internet Business Department. He says that their approach to games is excellent. Our cooperation combines Flexion’s market knowledge and Xiaomi’s support at the system level as a smartphone OEM to create a game ecosystem and provide real value to developers and Xiaomi customers worldwide.
Flexion already soft-launched Gods & Glory by DECA Games and is now fully integrated into the Xiaomi platform. Jens says that using the Xiaomi distribution platform will benefit developers, as payout rates are higher through this service than other platforms.
It has never been a better time for developers to consider a multi-store approach. As privacy and competition issues start to bite, it is getting harder for developers to earn revenue from one app store. Digital Marketing Act of the European Union (DMA) will, for example force tech giants into allowing alternative app stores in their ecosystems. The more platforms a game is available on, the greater its exposure.
Jens says, “We predict a surge in alternative store audiences because consumers will find more value in new stores like GetApps that offer better offers.” “We give developers new freedoms, making it easier for them to launch their games, scale up and make money from them.”
He continues, “We’ll help Xiaomi grow by bringing great titles to the channel.” Flexion is equipped with the technology and people to make this happen. Both the platform and games grow in audience and revenue. “Flexion’s strategy is a win-win for everyone.”
