Ainsworth Game Technology is celebrating its founder Len Ainsworth’s 100th birthday. Ainsworth Game Technology was founded in 1909. The company stated that this is a special occasion to honor the pioneering gaming visionary Len Ainsworth, who has been “recognized worldwide as a true icon in the gaming industry”.
Leonard Hastings Ainsworth was born in Kempsey in NSW Australia, on July 11,1923. He had “an insatiable desire to learn and a steadfast determination to make his mark in the world,” according the company.
Ainsworth began his career in manufacturing dental equipment. He left this field when he envisioned and pursued the design of gaming equipment. This is where Ainsworth’s legacy within the gaming industry started. Ainsworth established Aristocrat Leisure Industries in 1953. It became one of the largest gaming companies in the world.
Ainsworth’s family inherited Aristocrat after he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1984. This ensured that his legacy would continue. AGT states that after a diagnosis of prostate cancer, Ainsworth knew he “had more to give the industry he fell for”. He founded Ainsworth Game Technology, his second gaming firm, in 1995.
The firm stated that “Ainsworth spent his entire career creating cutting-edge, innovative gaming solutions which would revolutionize how people interact with slot machines and gaming products.”
Ainsworth expressed in a press release his gratitude for his success and the support received from family, friends, and colleagues.
“I am privileged to be able to reach this milestone, and I have been able to see how the gaming industry evolved and thrived over the years. It has been a great pleasure to establish a global reputation for high-quality equipment that leads the industry and I am very proud of that. “I have worked with a lot of great people on the way. Without them, none of this would be possible,” said he.
Ainsworth has a passion for philanthropy, in addition to his professional accomplishments. He founded the Ainsworth Foundation to support the Australian community, especially in the areas of medical research, education and healthcare. “I’m proud to be able to support so many worthy causes because of my fortune,” he said.
