Ultra is a complete PC gaming ecosystem developed by AAA game industry talent, including Ubisoft and Playstation. CLD Distribution, the owner of Smartoys Stores and the official distributors of the largest retailers in Europe announces the launch of Ultra Arena today, the next-generation platform for esports tournaments.
Ultra Arena was created to increase access to competitive gaming, both for pros and casual gamers. It will be live worldwide on 8th August in 2023 after a successful series of closed beta tournaments. To compete in their favourite games, players are often required to sign up for a variety of third-party sites and Discord servers. Ultra Arena solves this problem by integrating into Ultra’s ecosystem PC gaming apps. This allows tournament organization, rewards and prizes to be centralized in one intuitive hub.
Ultra Arena offers a variety of ways for publishers, gaming brands, and esports organisations to reach their audience. Brands and organizations can create their own exclusive events and tournaments. They also have the option to support tournament sponsorships. By interacting directly with emerging esports talent, they can also build highly competitive teams to represent themselves.
Ultra Arena will host tournaments that include titles such as League of Legends and Overwatch 2. CSGO and PUBG are also available on Ultra Games. The tournament organizers will be in charge of creating the brackets and rules to accommodate different skill levels. They also control the reward system. Prize pools may include Ultra’s $UOS eco-token, digital collectibles, and digital games. Players can also choose to receive physical licensed products, such as keyboards and graphics cards. They can then keep them or trade them with other players on Ultra’s Uniq Marketplace.
Ultra’s co-CEOs – Nicolas Gilot and David Hanson – have a track record of gaming and esports. They even created their own CSGO org back in the early 2000s. Nicolas Gilot announced the launch of Ultra Arena:
“Esports at the professional level and below quickly become a mash-up of Discord servers, LFG groups, and tournament platforms. This is a huge challenge for competitive players and excludes those who would like to compete with other gamers of similar abilities on their favorite games. We’re providing a user-friendly and convenient hub within the Ultra ecosystem to make it easier for gamers of all skill levels access tournaments while also giving gaming and esports brands unprecedented opportunities to engage with their fans and communities.
Raphael Pluta is the CEO of CLD Group.
“After working in the gaming industry for 24 years, I am so proud of this new partnership, which will allow gamers to compete, grow and have fun, all within a safe, exciting and stimulating environment. We want to combine physical products and this futuristic esports system to provide the best possible phygital experience. Ultra Arena offers retailers and e-tailers the chance to build communities, create marketing activations, and grow their fans in an innovative and authentic way. “Now more than ever before, the gaming industry is going to show its true power!”
Ultra Arena will be launched in April 2023, following the successful launch of Ultra Games – Ultra’s next generation PC games store. Ultra Arena allows tournaments to be held for any gaming title that is suitable, regardless if it’s available on Ultra Games. Ultra Arena will regularly be updated with new features, such as ongoing large-scale leagues for key titles in esports. Click here to download Ultra and begin exploring the ecosystem.
