The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, or PAGCOR, came to the rescue of over 31,000 families who were affected by the typhoons in Bulacan and Pampanga.
PAGCOR provided food and non-food packages that included rice, canned goods and bottled water as well as hygiene essentials. These packs were delivered to nine local governments (LGUs), which had been placed in a state of calamity.
The state-run gaming company and regulatory agency in Bulacan distributed 12,000 food and nonfood packs to the families of the affected municipalities of San Rafael and Calumpit and Obando. Malolos City, as well as the 5 th district, also fell under the province.
Reyce de Vera, Assistant district officer of the 3 rd Bulacan District, said that 7,700 families in the 3 rd were affected by the heavy flooding. PAGCOR provided aid to San Rafael, San Ildefonso and San Miguel.
PAGCOR also donated 17,500 non-food and food packs to affected communities in Pampanga. In total, PAGCOR donated 17,500 food and non-food packages to affected communities in Pampanga.
Galen Gumabon, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Risk Management Officer II of Candaba Municipality, expressed his gratitude to PAGCOR in extending aid to families who were displaced by the Typhoons.
OFW Party List was also added to the list, receiving 1,500 food relief packages and 1,000 non-food packs to distribute to affected communities.
PAGCOR distributed food and non-food packages worth P17 million in the provinces Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte as well as Bulacan and Abra.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council’s (NDRRMC) latest report, more than 800 000 families or 3,000,000 individuals in Central and Northern Luzon have been affected by Typhoon Egay and Typhoon Falcon. The damage in the agriculture sector is estimated at P2.9 billion.
