TrueLayer, Europe’s leading open banking payment network, announced today that StakeMate, a sports betting operator, is now using Signup+, TrueLayer’s onboarding software. StakeMate is the first UK iGaming firm to use open banking APIs in order to automate player signup.
Signup+ allows players in the UK to enjoy a faster, more secure and smoother signup process compared with manual onboarding.
Signup+ streamlines the registration process by combining account creation and payment. It uses data from the bank to verify a person’s name and address in seconds, speeding up KYC compliance.
In just a few steps, StakeMate users can verify their identity and set up an account. The funds are immediately available on the account of the user so they can begin using the StakeMate application right away.
As more players call for a smoother, more efficient onboarding process, the partnership was formed. According to TrueLayer’s and YouGov’s research, four out of ten UK users begin creating an account, but do not complete the signup. 37% of players abandon the onboarding process because it takes too long. Another 25% abandon it due to manual data entry.
Arya Tayebi said, “We are always looking for ways to minimize user friction, while maintaining high levels of regulatory compliance.” Signup+ allows our users to sign up and deposit in just one step.
Roberto Villani is the Vice President of iGaming at TrueLayer. He said: “We are thrilled to see StakeMate utilize TrueLayer Signup+ to enhance user onboarding.” This collaboration demonstrates TrueLayer’s commitment to revolutionizing iGaming, ensuring seamless access for players. TrueLayer is proud to partner with StakeMate and deliver a new level of betting experience.”
