Gods Reign, the winners of India’s largest Esports Tournament with a prize pool of INR 2 crore, concluded the event at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium in Bangalore. In the two-day Grand Finale, the team defeated Revenant Esports to become the first champions of India’s first franchised Esports event.
The Skyesports Masters Grand Finale, held at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium in Bangalore was the first Esports event to be held in a stadium since the pandemic. More than 7,100 people registered to watch the live event. The matchup took place in front of a large crowd cheering for their favorite CS:GO teams.
Revenant Esports vs Gods Reign was a thrilling battle between two of India’s CSGO titans. The team, led by Hrishikesh Shenoy, comprised of Anshul “KiiLSwitCh”, Piyush Kalwania and Akash “Ph1NN”, Bose and Parijaat Banerjee, performed at their best to win the series with a score of 2-0.
Hrishikesh Shenoy (Team Captain of Gods Reign CS GO) commented on the win, saying, “We were in the Grand Finale with the goal to win everything and I’m glad my team managed to do it.” After countless hours spent in practice and dedication, it is truly amazing to have won the first season of the Skyesports Masters. We thank all of our fans for coming to the venue and those who watched from home. They deserve this victory .”
Both teams exchanged rounds to start the finals, setting up a nail-biting first map. Gods Reign managed to win a round in the late game and snowball their victory. Gods Reign controlled the second map and stopped Revenant from making any comebacks, similar to what happened in the semifinals.
N.A. was also present at the event. Haris, a member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly as well as Vice-President for the All India Football Federation(AIFF), congratulated the Gods Reign players. “I wish Esports all the success and our government will support you in any way we can. He said, “We are always here to help you.”
Skyesports Masters is one of India’s largest gaming tournaments. The League Stage, which ran from July 8 until August 17, saw eight franchised teams competing for four places in the Grand Finale. The tournament saw more than 50 matches, demonstrating the competitiveness and quality of Counter-Strike Esports.

According to FICCI-EY’s “Windows of Opportunity”, report on India’s Media and Entertainment Industry, the number of Esports brands in India increased from 72 in the year 2021 to an estimated 80 in the year 2022.
Skyesports Masters, the largest gaming event in India, was a testimony to this. The tournament attracted industry giants such as AMD, Windows 11, Flipkart and Zebronics, as sponsors, along with Loco who were broadcasting partners and hosted the livestream.
Fans were also treated to booths from Zebronics and AMD as well as Windows 11 and Flipkart. Rap sensation Karma and prominent content creator Mortal performed a music set at the event, which featured a fusion of Esports with music.
