SBC is proud to announce four industry heavyweights who’s contributions have earned them a place in this month SBC Hall of Fame ceremony.
SBC Leaders Summit will take place at the W Hotel in Barcelona on the 19th of September. The event will celebrate the new members. The first C-level gathering is part of SBC’s global betting show SBC Summit Barcelona. It will take place from September 19-21 at Fira Barcelona Montjuic.
The following individuals will be recognized for their ongoing contributions to the industry at the ceremony:
- Gustaf Hagman – CEO and co-founder, LeoVegas
- Jordan Levin – CEO, OpenBet
- Per Widerstrom – Incoming CEO, 888 Holdings (effective October 16, 2023)
- Brigid SIMMONS OBE – Chair of the Betting and Gaming Council
SBC launched the Sports Betting Hall of Fame in 2016 to honour, celebrate and recognise individuals whose achievements and lasting contributions have had a positive impact on industry. Former inductees, SBC’s Sue Schneider & Simon Bold will host the ceremony.
Sue Schneider is VP Growth and Strategy for the Americas, SBC. She said, “This occasion will remain forever in the hearts and minds of the inductees.” This is a chance for the industry to recognize the amazing work that these individuals have done, from establishing ethical standards to helping companies navigate cultural changes, mergers and purchases, and even pioneering mobile-first gambling.
I’m thrilled to celebrate the outstanding individuals from the class of 2023 who are doing their best to move our industry forward. This is an honor as great as my Hall of Fame Award.”
The new inductees join their classmates from 2023, Michael Gaughan (Owner of South Point Hotel Casino Spa), Nick Bogdanovich, (Sportsbook manager/oddsmaker at Circa Sports), Trish L. Lewandowski, (Sportsbook district manager, Caesars Digital), and David L. Rebuck, (Director of NJ Department of Gaming Enforcement), inductions that took place in June 2023, during the SBC Summit North America.
In addition to Sue Schneider, other inductees included Chris Andrews, (Sportsbook director, South Point), Paul Burns, (President & Chief Executive Officer, Canadian Gaming Association), Sandy Drozd, (Director – Software and Product Compliance – Circa Resort & Casino), and Vincent Magliulo, (Vice President/SportsBook director, Las Vegas Dissemination Co./Gaughan Gaming).
The SBC Leaders Summit, an invitation-only event, is a gathering of 450 C level executives. It includes exclusive networking, a highly engaging agenda, regulatory and regional roundtables as well as a Poker Championship, along with a variety invite-only meals during the core days at SBC Summit Barcelona.
