SBC’s flagship event SBC Summit will move to Lisbon in 2024 in order for the fastest-growing industry gathering to be able meet its needs.
The event, previously known as SBC Summit Barcelona will now be called SBC Summit 2020. This is because the branding has changed to reflect the global nature of the event.
SBC Summit is an international gathering that crosses borders. We extend a warm welcome for attendees from around the globe and across various industries.
The event will take place in three days, from 24 to 26 September 2024 at Feira International de Lisboa. This is twice as large as the venue of 2023, measuring 38,000 sqm. The increased capacity allows SBC to host 600 exhibitor. This is nearly double the number of exhibitors at the 2023 edition.
The SBC Summit can now host 25 000 attendees in the FIL. The diverse audience includes operators, affiliates and sportsbook and casinos suppliers, regulators and payment providers, marketing agencies and associations, as well as legal advisors and start-ups.
Rasmus Sjmark is the CEO and founder of SBC. He said that: “The decision to move our flagship event from Fira Barcelona Montjuic was driven by their remarkable growth which clearly exceeded its capacity, as well praise and support of clients and industry stakeholders. We mean it when we say that this is the fastest-growing event of the industry. Finding the right venue was therefore essential.
The expansion of the event on the exhibition side does not compromise its commitment to provide the best possible experience for delegates. The Conference will host 8 stages, 500 Speakers including the largest gaming stage with thousands of seats. Food trucks will be on hand to serve local and international food and beverages around the clock. The many bars, coffee shops, ice-cream lounges, beer gardens, beach bars, fun zones, game zones and more will offer networking and business opportunities.
Maria Joao Rocha de Matos said: “We’re thrilled to welcome SBC Summit in Lisbon 2024. We at FIL – Lisbon Exhibition & Convention Centre are committed to providing the best facilities and support for this event. Our team is dedicated to working with SBC, its community and to create an unforgettable event in our beautiful city. We are excited to show off all that FIL, Lisbon and the SBC Summit has to offer.
Lisbon is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Western Europe. It has a rich history and attracts more than 6 million tourists each year. The locals are known for their warmth and hospitality. While Portuguese is the official language of the city, English is widely used in certain areas. Lisbon’s culinary culture is one of the top reasons to visit. The city itself is surrounded with a vibrant array bars and restaurants. There are more than 20 within walking distance.
Lisbon’s extensive flight connections are also ideal for the global nature and scope of the event. The Humberto Delgado Airport is conveniently located only 4 km away from FIL and offers direct connections to 136 airports around the world, including nonstop routes to major US hubs and South American hubs.
The city and FIL is home to the Web Summit, which annually attracts more than 70,000 attendees. This event transforms the city in a tech hub. It was an obvious and immediate choice. FIL had all the elements we needed to scale our event, while still maintaining accessibility and the high standards of quality that we have set. I’m looking forward to what lies ahead. “This is a momentous occasion for SBC and we are embracing it wholeheartedly,” sojmark said.
