In conjunction with Mindway AI and the National Day of Action against Gambling Addiction 2023, The German Sports Betting Association DSWV offers a self-test to players on its homepage. This allows them to analyse their gambling behavior.
Rasmus Kjaergaard explains how the system works: “Gamalyze analyzes game behavior in real-world situations, such as when a player is randomly drawing cards and either winning or losing money. Even if the money is just for fun, it is possible to determine a person’s risk of gambling risky behavior much more accurately than by using classic questionnaires.
Then, the player receives a score and an assessment of his or her risky behavior. They also get actionable advice on how to improve their gambling behaviour: for example, how to set a budget, take a break, or use winnings as a treat. Gamalyze analyses how players respond to stimuli, such as temporary gains or losses.
Gambling is an innocent leisure activity for millions of Germans. In particular, sports betting has become a part of everyday life and is a vital component of the sporting experience. Gambling is not without risk: A very small percentage of consumers may develop gambling behavior that’s questionable or problematic. Gambling addiction is serious and gambling providers in Germany always try to innovate in order to detect a problematic gambling behaviour among their customers early on and take preventive measures against it.
