ESL FACEIT Group, the leader in esports, video games, and entertainment, announced today that Counter-Strike 2 is now available on FACEIT. FACEIT is the world’s most popular online platform for competitive gaming. FACEIT’s 22 million players will help CS2 players to improve their skills quicker than anywhere else.
FACEIT allows players to join communities, get feedback and tips for their journey into the professional world, and host or join matches on private servers. FACEIT has its own ranking system where players can start at Level 1 or reach Level 10. FACEIT Pro League qualifiers can start their journey towards becoming one of the top CS players by participating in tournaments in the community or qualifying for the FPL. FACEIT’s AI, “Minerva”, is renowned for its anti-cheat system and chat moderator.
FACEIT has launched a new Elo system for the new Counter-Strike era. FACEIT Season 1 aims to create a competitive environment that is ideal for CS2. FACEIT Season 1 culminates with the FPL Proving Grounds : The Ultimate Path to Pro. This will feature the largest prize pool in public matchmaking, featuring $100,000 for the top players of the ‘Challenger” rank. Challenger, the new FACEIT rank, is for the top 1,000 players from Europe, South America and North America. The top three FPL Proving Grounds players will also receive a direct invitation to the FPL and a monthly allowance to help them along their journey to professional.
FPL Proving Grounds, which will be held every four months to help the best matchmaking players break into the professional world, will also act as a way for FPL qualifiers to improve. The first version will be the grand finale for FACEIT Season 1 replacing FPL C Hubs and FPL C Qualifiers. The FPL path is now completely free and connects directly to the Elo leaderboards of Europe, North America, and South America.
FPL in Counter-Strike 2 has already launched, featuring top players and CS legends, as well as truly top talents. This optimizes the famous path to professional environment, which supported stars like Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut and Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov. It is the goal to recreate the feel and look of the FPL’s early days with top professionals and livestream content that is unique for the community. FACEIT will also make Elo and skill level adjustments to better represent the current player base. This will reduce waiting times for high-ranked Counter-Strike 2 players and offer a better match balance.
Super Match is a new feature added to CS2 for FACEIT. It allows players to control their matchmaking experience, and to guarantee 100% specific characteristics in their next match. This ensures that the algorithm will adapt to their needs. Super Match Version 1.0 will be available to all Plus and Premium subscribers in all regions.
FACEIT, in addition to North America has also rolled out the server selector for European players. This feature offers a variety of server locations, including Moscow and Germany. It also includes Finland, Sweden, Netherlands UK and France. Players of CS2 can now optimize their ping by choosing server locations prior to queueing up. This is a game changer for players in CIS, enhancing connectivity and minimizing language barriers by clustering Western European and Eastern European players more effectively. FACEIT increased the map selection requirements for premium subscribers to support this expansion, without impacting queue times.
