Europe
Slot machines are still popular in Europe despite their losses of around 5 p.p. During H2 2022, and H1 2023. Even though their market share has declined, it still exceeds 80% of the other gaming categories. Card games, on the other hand, improved their position almost four percentage points.
In Q2 2023, the top five categories of games saw minor changes. Total Bets Sum in Craps Games grew 2.7 times in comparison with the previous quarter. This increase in performance has pushed this game type to the 5th position in the top rankings. Casual games have been replaced by Craps.
The most popular games of the last year were Gates of Olympys and Big Bamboo. The top games landscape showed significant changes from quarter to quarter.
Amatic, Amusnet, Evolution, Pragmatic Play and Push Gaming are the top performing game providers in 2022-2023. The positions of these game providers in the ranking changed slightly from one quarter to another.
Asia
Since the last quarter of 2022, there has been a steady upward trend in Asia’s top five game categories. Slot games are the most popular gaming category in Asia, with a market share of over 80%.
Gates of Olympys has been the top-ranked game in Asia since Q4 2022. Bonanza Billion has also experienced fluctuation in its ranking within the top five games since the end last year. Aviator’s Total Bets Sums increased by two-fold in the first half of the year, propelling it to the top of the rankings. Hot Fruits lost its top ranking in 2023’s second quarter.
In terms of the top game providers in Asia it is worth noting that Evolution, Pragmatic Play, and BGaming all fought for their positions over the last four quarters. Play’n Go, Amatic and 1spin4win ceded the top spots in the rankings in Q2 to Amusnet and EGT.

Aviator soared to the top of the list in Q4 2020, with a substantial increase in Total Bets Sum – nearly 170 million euro more than the previous quarter. Spribe’s success propelled it from tenth to fourth place in Q2 of 2023. Play’n GO was displaced from the top five. Pragmatic Play Evolution Playtech and BGaming were among the other providers that remained at the top of the rankings with only minor changes over the last year.
In Latin America, the top five games make up approximately 25% of all bets in the region. In Europe and Asia, the figure is around 10%. The displacement of slot machines with roulette and the preference for live games are also notable market trends.
