ORAKO’s managed-services sportsbook will be the backbone of sports betting in Taiwan over the next decade
Sportradar was selected by the Taiwan Sports Lottery as its official technology and service solution provider following an international bid process. Sportradar will transform sports betting in Taiwan as part the consortium that operates the Taiwan Sports Lottery between 2024 and 2033, based on the services offered, the structure, and the longevity of this industry-first contract.
Sportradar’s position in Asia Pacific is further strengthened by its inclusion in the consortium consisting of ADATA Technology, the license holder; Taiwan Sports Lottery Company Ltd. (TSLC), the operator, and China Trust Bank. The consortium received the third Sports Lottery License from the Taiwan Government Sports Administration in December 2020.
ORAKO is the company’s complete sportsbook solution and player account manager. It will be implemented in more than 2,600 retail outlets across Taiwan, as well as on mobile and web channels, as it was designed for omnichannel usage. Sportradar will use its technology to power the Lottery and ORAKO Sports Betting and Player Management Platform, Managed Trading Services and Pre-match and live data and odds. Audiovisual streaming and Marketing services are also integrated into this solution. The solution includes delivery of all required equipment in retail stores, including customized lottery terminals, printers and digital multi-media displays that provide live sports and gambling information.
Sportradar established a team locally in Taipei as part of this agreement to provide operational expertise and support alongside TSLC team members.
Carsten Koerl said, “Our experience in working with government lotteries across the globe, combined with our innovative technology, and ORAKO end-to-end solution, means Sportradar will be well-positioned to operate as a part of a consortium that is successful for the Taiwan Sports Lottery.” We are able to provide a full range of betting options to ensure that players have a consistent and high-quality experience, regardless of whether they play in e-commerce, on the internet, or via their mobile devices.
Ted Lin, the President of Taiwan Sports Lottery Company Ltd., stated: “Our goal is to redefine sports betting and Sportradar’s full suite of technology solutions will help us achieve this.” We have a track record of successfully working with lottery providers around the world. We look forward to harnessing synergies to transform the sports gambling landscape in Taiwan.
Sportradar’s technological solutions support more than 10 government-approved lottery games around the globe, including Hong Kong and South Korea. It also supports lotteries in Singapore, Norway, Finland, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
