Winz.io experts conducted a study in order to determine the top eSports athletes on social media. The ranking was based on data from Twitch and Instagram, Twitter, and Youtube.
Kyle Giersdorf (better known as Bugha) is the most followed eSports athlete on social media, with 16M social media followers. This American player is known for playing Fortnite Battle Royale. Bugha is the leader in the rankings, with the largest following across all social media platforms except Twitter. Seth Abner has 1.9M Twitter followers.
Faker is second, with 7.2M total followers, which is double the number of Bugha. Faker is an expert League of Legends gamer. He became popular on Twitch, where he streams the game to an audience of 3.9M people and 1.7M viewers.
Seth Abner (also known as Scump) is in third place with 7M followers. His popularity was built by playing Call of Duty, an action-packed first-person shooter. Scump has 2.2M Twitter followers, and uploads stream highlights.
Oleksandr s1mple Kostyliev is the fourth most followed eSports player, with 6.2M social media followers. S1mple, a professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive gamer, has 3.6M Twitch followers. S1mple, who has 28K subscribers on Youtube, is one of the least popular players in this list.
Gabriel Toledo de Alcantara Sguario (also known as FalleN) is now the fifth-most followed eSports athlete with a total of 5M fans. This Counter-Strike 2 star is one of the most influential Brazilian eSports players. He has more than 1M subscribers across all social platforms covered by this study. These include Instagram, Youtube, Twitter and Twitch. His Twitch audience is the largest with 1.5M.
Philip Dosen (aka ImperialHal) is the sixth-most followed eSports athlete on this list. ImperialHal’s competitions in Apex Legends are well-known. This is a free-to play battle royale shooter. Twitch is where he gets most of his followers, with 1.9M. His popularity on Instagram is lower than that of FalleN, Scump, or Faker, with only 135K Instagram followers and 341K Youtube followers.
Artour Babaev is ranked seventh in the popularity ranking with 1.6M social media followers and almost equals David Wang. Arteezy is a Canadian video game player who competes in Dota 2. Arteezy’s most popular platforms are Twitch and Twitter. He has 767K and a total of 637K fans, respectively.
Aqua, also known as David Wang, is only a few thousands followers behind Arteezy. This Fortnite player, ImperialHal, has a larger audience on Twitter than Arteezy with 694K.
Olof Gustafsson is a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player, better known as Olofmeister. He holds the ninth position of the most-followed eSports athletes. His total number of followers is 1.4M, with 786K Twitch accounts following him.
Topson, also known as Topias Taavitsainen closes out the list of most-followed social media eSports stars with 1M followers. He is almost a half million followers behind. Topson, a Finnish Dota 2 gamer, has more than half his audience on Twitch.
