Ascot Racecourse announces that BetMGM UK is sponsoring the Clarence House Chase Raceday on Saturday, 20 th. January.
The BetMGM Clarence House Chase, a Grade 1 contest worth PS175,000, will be the main event of the day. This prestigious race was won by the best two-mile runners in recent history, including Altior Un De Sceaux Sprinter Sacre.
The race is gaining momentum as Nicky Henderson, Willie Mullins and El Fabiolo prepare to face off. In 2022, when the Clarence House Chase raced at Ascot, we saw an epic battle between the two trainers. Shishkin beat Energumene.
The total prize money at the BetMGM Clarence House Chase Raceday will be PS415,000 in 2024, a record amount. This is up 13% on the PS366,400 offered in 2022 (races 2023 were abandoned). BetMGM is sponsoring five races, including the PS60,000 BetMGM Grade 2 Mares’ Hurdle. (Registered under the name The Warfield), won by Roksana and Magic Of Light.
This season, the BetMGM Clarence House Chase will no longer have an early entry closing date to help with planning. Entry will take place on Monday, 15 th of January.
BetMGM UK, a premium gaming and betting brand operated by LeoVegas Group is owned wholly by global entertainment company MGM Resorts International. The All-Weather Championships are part of their sponsorship portfolio for British racing. This new and growing partnership with Ascot is a result of their ambitious growth plans in the UK by 2024.
