Karta is a metaverse studio that has pioneered the world of experiential marketing in games. Its latest project, Beat Builder reaches 100,000 users.
Beat Builder is a music rhythm interactive game in which players build walls, ramps and floors to the beat. Beat Builder, the first build-based rhythm-game on the platform, is centered on a core Fortnite gameplay element used in the very popular Battle Royal. The game can be played as a fun music-filled game, but it is also used to help players improve their Fortnite game-playing abilities.
Karta partnered with NoCopyrightSounds to create the eclectic music library of the game. NoCopyrightSounds is a music label and record label that does not require copyrights. Players can interact with stems that match each song’s vibe, focusing on drumstep, phonk, and trap electronic music. Artists such as Twisted if found, XTOM, and Lost Sky are featured. Karta wants to update the game with new genres and music, such as K-pop, metal and rock. Beat Builder’s long-term goal is to integrate musicians into Fortnite so that they can share their music with fans. The game will become a platform to discover new artists and music.
Beat Builder has been gaining popularity ever since it was launched, and reaching 100,000 players is an important milestone. Karta updated the game to include two of NCS’s biggest songs, Royalty by Egzod & Maestro Chives, and Invincible, by Deaf Kev, and has already planned further extensions, partnership and new seasons.
Erik Londre said, “We are thrilled that Beat Builder is off to such an amazing start.” We wanted to make a rhythm-based game that was 100% Fortnite native. The music would be tied to the core gameplay of the platform. We are excited by the idea of a rhythm game that will make you a better player.
Tony Barnes, Chief Growth Officer at Karta, said: “Beat Builder embodies what Karta stands for; innovative, forward-thinking designs that combine incredible music and interactive gaming into one fun place.” The metaverse’s music is changing and we believe Beat Builder can become a platform that allows artists and brands authentically connect with Fortnite audiences through gameplay and new songs. We are excited to see it grow and develop.
Karta was launched in 2021 and has since worked with brands like Amazon Music, McDonald’s, and Hugo Boss. Karta also worked with Spotify to create its global campaign Spotify Wrapped. This was aimed at gamifying the listening habits and bringing them into the metaverse. Karta’s partnerships are reshaping the entertainment experience in the metaverse, and creating meaningful connections between brands with their audiences. The London-based studio also collaborated with global artists in the last year. These include Nicki Minaj with her Gag City experience, K-pop superstar Blackpink and its massively popular Blackpink the Palace, as well as Twice, with their Twice Square experience, which is now the most successful persistent musical experience on Roblox.
Charlotte Lee, Brand Manager at NCS, stated that “We are very happy to be able to provide music for Beat Builder. This brilliant new game gives players the opportunity to interact with music in a way they have never experienced before.” It has the potential to be a platform that is used for music gaming, and we are proud to support it.
