Digital Isle of Man reported the highest number of eGaming licenses ever issued in the Isle of Man. Digital Isle of Man is an Executive Agency of the Isle of Man’s Department for Enterprise. It’s responsible for supporting the island’s existing ecosystem of software and eGaming businesses, as well as attracting new eGaming businesses to the Island.
The Isle of Man broke its eGaming record by granting 75 licenses to the Gambling Supervision Commission (GSC). This is the highest number of licensed gaming operators ever granted on the Island and an increase of 15% over the previous year.
This remarkable 79% increase over five years is more than the global eGaming industry’s growth.
This announcement is made as Digital Isle of Man attends International Gaming Summit (ICE), at the ExCeL in London.
The event runs through Thursday, February 9, and brings together experts, industry leaders, and innovative tech companies to discuss the most recent developments in egaming.
The Isle of Man’s eGaming sector has seen an incredible growth, proving its position as a major hub in the industry. Combine the favorable regulations of the Island with a stable economy and digital infrastructure, as well as low Corporation Tax, Gambling Duty, and Capital Gains Tax, you’ll see why the Island is a desirable destination for eGaming companies looking to expand.
Chief Executive of Digital Isle of Man Lyle Wraxall stated:
‘It’s been a great year for our eGaming industry and I’m thrilled to be back at ICE this year. We will once again be joined by a great delegation of Isle of Man business owners to promote the Island’s eGaming sector. You can find us at stand N6-120.
“A strong and robust licensing system used to be considered a barrier to doing businesses, but it is now considered the Isle of Man’s USP. I’m proud of how Digital Isle of Man helped secure this unprecedented growth for Island’s eGaming community.
“The Isle of Man is at forefront of global eGaming and has shown just how resilient it can be. It has also demonstrated sustained growth over several years.
“The industry is a significant contributor in our economy and this latest milestone proves that the Island is an international tech hub.”
The Isle of Man introduced legislation in 2001 specifically to protect and benefit gambling firms. It has a great reputation for being a leading regulatory jurisdiction for electronic gaming. This is supported by its flexible, robust and adaptable licensing system, which gives businesses prestige on the international stage.
The Island is proud of hosting many of the most prestigious gaming brands in the world, such as Flutter, Games Global and Ballys, Luckbox, Rivalry, and Games Global.
