The ECA Board of European Casino Association (ICE London 2023) announced that Per Jaldung, after eight years of success, has resigned as Chairman. Erwin van Lambaart was unanimously approved by members to be his successor.
Per Jaldung, a leader in the entertainment and casino industry for more than 20 years has been the Chairman of the ECA. He was elected to this position in 2015. Per was a 13-year veteran of the Stockholm Police Department and National Criminal Intelligence Service before he entered the casino entertainment industry. Per’s background in law enforcement brought him to Casino Cosmopol as the head of Security and Surveillance in 2002. He was then promoted to General Manager at the Gothenburg property, in 2005. Per was named CEO of Casino Cosmopol in 2008, a position he held until December 31, 20,22.
“It was an honor to be the Chairman of ECA. People are the greatest asset to this industry. I have had the privilege of being greeted warmly by people from all over the world, in all positions and across all countries within the multifaceted European and international land-based casinos sector. The industry has faced many challenges and it continues to face headwinds from multiple directions. However, the ECA members, especially the Board of Directors, and the new Chairman can embrace and overcome these obstacles. Per Jaldung expressed his gratitude to Erwin van Lambaart for his appointment. “It is a challenging role that he will take on with great energy and dedication,” Per Jaldung stated.
Erwin van Lambaart, the new Chairman of ECA, has been a Member since 2021. He joined Casinos Austria in March 2022 as CEO. Erwin has extensive experience in media, entertainment, and marketing. After graduating from The Hague’s Hotel School, Erwin worked in the hotel industry for 15 years. He then moved to the live entertainment industry, where he spent another 15 years.
He was appointed CEO of Holland Casinos in 2016 and quickly established himself as a casino and gaming expert. Erwin van Lambaart, who was then CEO of Casinos Austria AG & Osterreichische Lotterien GmbH, moved to Austria on March 14, 2022.
“It is a great honor to be appointed Chairman of the European Casino Association by my peers from this incredible industry. It is a huge responsibility to support the ECA members during these difficult times for the casino industry. Per Jaldung deserves my appreciation for his outstanding stewardship and his support, advice, and leadership. I look forward working with him in future endeavors and wish him all the best. There are many changes in the European licensed casino industry. Erwin van Lambaart stated that he would be working with ECA members, the ECA board and our partners to determine the priorities for future work of the association in the coming weeks.
