The tournament is at its most critical point. There are two days left before the Hall of Heroes opens for fans to enjoy the legendary atmosphere of Intel(r) Extreme Masters, (IEM), Katowice 2023. 24 of the most elite Counter-Strike: Global Offensive(CS:GO) teams around the world participated in a fierce competition. Only the top six advanced to the final stage. The CS:GO teams are now fine tuning their skills for their next battles. 36 of the best StarCraft(r] II players will take center stage. They will be playing against each other over the next few days to win the ESL Pro Tour Championship title.

Thousands of fans will be there to cheer on their CS:GO heroes in the Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland, and their StarCraft(r), II idols at the International Congress Center (MCK), Katowice, Poland. They can also look forward to the free-to enter IEM Expo returning, as the MCK will be hosting one of the largest trade shows in the area, the EFG Esports forum, live ESL Impact, and ESL R1 tournaments.


ESL Pro Tour to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Championship

Yesterday’s Group Stage was over. The top six teams now move on to the final weekend. The competition showed that the best players from around the world came to Katowice with their best, and there were some surprises.

FaZe Clan (IEM Katowice 2022) will not be defending the title. The international team faced Team Liquid in the final game of the Group Stage. Team Liquid won the match 2-1.

Team Liquid, the IEM Rio 2022 Major Champ, Outsiders and the ESL Pro League Season 16 Winner, Team Vitality will join them in the quarterfinals. Last spot was decided by a match between G2 Esports and Natus Vincere, in which the former won with confidence. Natus Vincere will now move on to the quarterfinals, which will begin Friday, February 10, at 3:00 PM CET. G2 Esports will join team Heroic in the semi-finals. The penultimate stage will begin Saturday, February 11th at 3:30 pm CET.

Only two days remain before history is made. The top six competitors are getting ready for their final stage of ESL Pro Tour: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Championship. They will compete for the largest share in the $1,000,000 prize pool.

ESL Pro Tour to StarCraft(r), II Championship

Under the supervision of their commanders, today’s battle will see the Zealots, Marines, and Zerglings face off. 36 of the most skilled StarCraft(r) II players are participating in a grand tournament to compete for the World Championship title. There is a total prize pool worth $500,000. The competition moves to the IEM Expo in MCK on February 10th, where the competitors will continue their extragalactic battle live.

IEM Expo Returns

IEM Katowice, which has been absent for more than three years, returns to its full glory, along with the IEM Expo. This year’s IEM Expo is filled with major highlights. This year’s IEM Expo includes two additional esports competitions, in addition to the StarCraft(r) II Championship.

  • The beginning of a new chapter is here for fans of virtual racing. ESLR1 will kick off at IEM Katowice 2023 from February 11-12. It has a $500,000 prize pool. The brand-new championship was co-created by RENNSPORT and will feature 48 drivers from 12 teams competing in eight rounds to qualify for ESL R1 Major.   • The all-women CS:GO circuit ESL Impression makes its Polish debut. Eight of the most prestigious women CS:GO teams around the globe will face off in a live event. The participating teams will compete for $100,000 in a prize pool, with their fans cheering them on.

IEM Expo attendees also have the chance to see the ESL Pro Tour in CS:GO Championship live from a designated area within the Spodek Arena. Please note that there is limited space and that admissions are on a first-come, first served basis.

However, the IEM Expo isn’t just about esports. It is also a celebration of passion where people who love new technologies, gaming, and pop culture can meet and make unforgettable memories. The event, which is free to attend, will also host a world-famous trade show that will feature some of the most prominent brands around the globe. Many activities have been prepared by exhibitors, including competitions and free2play zones from brands like Intel(r), Komputronik Gaming (Motor Energy), Monster Energy, Samsung and HyperX as well as Hewlett-Packard. Visitors will have the opportunity to play new titles in gaming and take part in many tournaments and competitions. They can also meet influencers during meet and greet sessions. The following are some of the exhibitors:

  • The ESLLAN Party will host a variety of activities from the zone’s partners, including a chillout area with view on StarCraft II stage and numerous hardware partners. A central zone includes IEM Katowice’s first-ever Cosplay Competition lead by Shappi workshop.
  • Lenovo Legion will create an event that benefits from all aspects. Visitors can play and compete with some of the most competitive games, take part in product demonstrations from tech influencers and enjoy a spectacular concert by Smolasty, one of the most well-known Polish rappers of today – from February 10th, 5PM to 6PM.
  • ConQuest entertainment, a distributor of Nintendo, has set up a booth where you can have lots of fun with your Nintendo Switch console. You can have tons of fun, whether you’re playing in Splatoon 3 or scoring points in Mario Strikers Battle League Football.
  • RENNSPORT will provide two virtual racing rigs that you can use to test the future of virtual driving and experience the ESL R1 drivers racing in it.

IEM Katowice also offers a platform for people to share, learn, and celebrate. The EFG Esports Forum will feature representatives from the esports, gaming, and business industries. These leaders, along with opinions leaders, will discuss the future industry at two conference days.

  • Friday, February 10, 2010 – “Esports Elevated” Trends and Perspectives – This forum’s first section is open to all who are interested in the esports business and its future.
  • Saturday, February 11, 2012 – Video games and esports are an opportunity for Europe’s future digital. “The example of Poland” – This second section focuses on the relationship between esports and the economy, both national and local.
