Officially, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation’s (PAGCOR), Photography Contest 2023 will begin on February 15, 2023. Register now.
The theme for this year’s “Sa’n Tayo Next?” aims to highlight the unspoiled, but equally beautiful, places in the Philippines that have potential tourism potential. Photos must show under-recognized or less-known spots in the country that have the potential to be major tourist destinations.
PAGCOR’s Assistant Vice-President for Corporate Communications Carmelita Valdez invites photographers, both newbies and professionals, to participate in the contest that will last from February 15th to July 31st 2023.
This is your chance to showcase amazing places in the Philippines that aren’t often visited and not well-known. She said that it would not only provide more options for travelers to explore but also boost tourism in the area, which will eventually lead to livelihood opportunities for locals.”
To join, participants must register at and submit their entries through the contest website https://www.pagcor.ph/photocon2023. Participants must complete the required information and upload all necessary documents in order to complete their registration. The submitted photographs must be in landscape (horizontal orientation).
There are two categories to the photography contest: Conventional Category includes photos taken with traditional or conventional cameras such as Single Lens Reflex (SLR), Digital SLR and compact cameras. Mobile Category is photos taken with mobile devices like smartphones, tablets and drone-mounted cameras.
We allow no more than two entries per participant. Valdez explained that individuals have the option of submitting two photos under the Conventional Category or Mobile Category, or one photo for each category.
Valdez reminded participants to register under the region where they reside, such as Metro Manila or Luzon. As proof of their residency, they will need to submit a valid ID and address. They can submit photos taken elsewhere in the Philippines, regardless of where they live.
“We will carefully screen entries. Photos that are sent to the wrong group of people will be disqualified. Valdez clarified that the entries must be taken between August 1, 2022 and July 31, 2023.
The grand prize winners will receive cash prizes worth P80,000 for 12 of the winners in the traditional category and P35,000 for 12 in the mobile category. The “Most Liked Photo” category winner will receive another P10,000.
All Filipino nationals over 18 years of age as of February 15, 2023 are eligible to participate in the Photography Contest 2023.
