Congratulations on your exclusive status as the pricing and risk management provider for Racing1 Markets. What is the importance of this partnership to Pythia Sports?
This is an important milestone for us and it cements our role as a racing innovation partner. This agreement separates us from the competition because we are directly partnered with four of the major horse racing rights holders, which strengthens our position as trusted partners. Horse racing remains a major revenue generator for sportsbooks. It is often only second to soccer. For one of our clients it is their most traded sport. This new partnership is aimed at providing an engaging and exciting experience to our customers. Our new plug-and play iFrame will be used in conjunction with our API integration. The different delivery options allow clients to select the best solution for their horse racing or greyhounds needs.
Could you explain to us how Racing1 Markets and Racing1 Markets work and what Pythia’s role is in this alliance?
Racing1 was created by four of the largest global rights holders: 1/ST Content (formerly Arena Racing Company), Racecourse Media Group RMG, and Tabcorp. These companies formed an alliance in order to consolidate rights and deliver content internationally. Racing1 agrees to distribute their content all over the world.
Racing1 Markets, a fully-outsourced racing solution is part of the partnership. Pythia provides the risk management. Racing1 Markets and Pythia Racing Solution are the two components of the partnership.
Do you have a relationship with ARC that predates the launch of Racing1 Markets? What has changed since then?
We have a very long-standing partnership with ARC. The rebrand makes it clearer to operators that they can find all the services under one roof.
All rights have been bundled into a single integration. Sportsbooks no longer have to contact each rights holder separately. Racing1 can provide a ready-to-go racing operation.
What are Pythia’s ambitions for the company in this year?
This is the first step in achieving our ambitious goals for this year. We want to reach as many partners possible. The iFrame is a new solution that we have developed. It makes integration easier and faster for those who do not yet have a front-end solution for horseracing. Watch this space. We are currently exploring a number of exciting partnerships.
Why does Pythia Sports pricing and risk management differ from other solutions on the market?
Our expertise has always been in horse racing and greyhound races. As a B2B provider, we’ve delivered healthy margins to operators for over five years. But as a company, our experience spans decades. I believe our pricing algorithms are among the strongest on the market. We also strive to provide the best possible customer experience. We are excited to announce several additions to the 2025 offering and will be showcasing these to current and future partners.
What trends should Pythia Sports be aware of today?
We have seen the revenue growth that our award winning in-play product was able to bring the industry. And we are excited to build on this growth, not only with additional markets but also with more on-screen content that will support the in play experience and make it easy for customers to judge the race.
We’ve adopted a “simplify-and-inform” mantra across all of our products. We want to make racing easier for our customers by putting all the necessary information at their fingertips. We will be launching enhanced form guides for greyhounds as well as horse racing early this year. This will aggregate race history and turn it into stats, badges, and comments that customers can use to make better betting decisions.
SGP and Bet Builders are credited with increasing turnover and profitability for many sports. Our new Bet Builder product is also set to launch this year. It will provide new growth opportunities, for both avid bettors who can build a bet on how they envision a race to play out, and for more recreational bettors who want to win big with smaller stakes. This will go hand-in-hand with our enhanced betting form, which highlights market trends and offers opportunities in real time. Bettors can then build their bets for any story.
How did Pythia Sports find exhibiting at ICE2025?
It was our first year having a Racing1 stand, and it was an amazing experience. We are the only provider that offers the entire package of data, media rights and risk management services in one contract. This is our USP, and ICE was the perfect venue for us to discuss it. Horse racing is at its highest level ever, and companies around the world continue to be interested in it.
