Sportradar was selected as the winning bidder for global ATP data streaming rights beginning in 2024. This follows a lengthy RFP process that was led by Tennis Data Innovations, (TDI).
Sportradar, a leading global sports technology company, provides immersive experiences for bettors and sports fans worldwide. Since 2022, the company has supplied official secondary data feeds for the ATP Tour and Challenger Tour. It also boasts a list of partnerships that span professional sports.
TDI initiated the RFP process in January 2023. Five bidders submitted detailed proposals in multiple rounds for a six year rights cycle that began in 2024. This process was necessary to market rights that have significantly increased in value over the past ten years. This was done following the 2020 establishment of TDI, a joint venture vehicle of ATP Media and ATP Media that oversees innovation, development, and commercial management for all data and streaming products for the ATP Tour or ATP Challenger Tour.
Sportradar’s dedication to product innovation in the downstream market, unrivalled development of advanced technologies like computer vision and AI, and its industry-leading integrity services were important considerations during the selection process.
David Lampitt is the CEO of TDI. He said that he was grateful for the support shown by all bidders throughout the selection process. Sportradar was chosen by us as our best partner in achieving our growth goals due to its combination of global reach, product capabilities and an innovative business model that has allowed us to continue to grow this market.
Since the inception of TDI, the mission of the company has been to provide the best data & streaming products for tennis fans. We also want to bring new players to the game. We will see great returns for the sport if we do this correctly. This process was competitive and Sportradar won a compelling bid, proving the immense value of ATP content. We look forward to forming a strong partnership.
Sportradar CEO Carsten Koerl said that TDI selected Sportradar to help support the tremendous growth of the game of tennis. Our offerings are unique and will offer betting operators best-in class products. Tech-savvy tennis fans will enjoy a richer and more immersive experience than only Sportradar can provide. Our experience in the development of advanced technologies such as computer vision and AI that create advanced analytics, data visualization and data visualization will allow fans to engage with tennis in new and compelling ways while protecting and maintaining its integrity.
Sportradar and TDI will now collaborate to reach an agreement and finalize contractual terms in preparation of the new rights cycle that begins on January 1, 2024.
