The 2023 intake of professionals in the games industry is a major milestone.
Limit Break, which is the largest mentorship program in the United Kingdom for marginalized and underrepresented groups, announced today the launch of its 2023 scheme. Applications are now open for mentors and mentees.
Limit Break Mentorship Training is now available to industry professionals who want to improve their mentoring and allyship skills. This program marks its fifth anniversary.
Limit Break’s fifth year of the mentorship program is a continuation of its partnership with Out Making Games. Anyone working in a UK-based games company can apply for mentorship.
Potential mentees can be matched through the Limit Break platform with mentors from all walks of the industry. These mentors could range from programmers and artists to marketers and QA experts. Mentors are open to anyone with at least five years of experience in any role within the industry, regardless their background. The six-month program is completely free and includes all the benefits of membership to the Limit Break community. This community offers many opportunities to build skills, connect and support career development.
Limit Break’s dedication to mentoring diverse talent has prompted the creation of its new training program, Limit Break Mentorship Training. This two-part course, which is fully CPD approved, will give participants the chance to learn skills and tools that can be used to create mentorship relationships and actively support diversity in the industry. This course is for mentors who wish to be officially certified as well as for companies that want to train their employees to become better mentors.
Anisa Sanusi said that mentorship is a key component in the development and promotion of diverse talent in the gaming sector. She also stated that she believes mentorship has a tremendous role to play. We are thrilled to launch Limit Break for the fifth year. This is in addition to our new mentorship program.
Harun Ali, Head of Training at Limit Break stated that they want to provide mentorship training in order to encourage and support both aspiring mentors and those already in the industry to help them upskill and even break into this field. “Limitbreak Mentorship Training was created specifically for the gaming industry.
