The company has announced the beginning of a brand renovation to reflect its values and strategy for growth within the entertainment industry. First, the company name will be changed to WePlay Studios. This is in line with the current business model of the company.
WePlay has always been guided by a single dream: to create not only events and shows, but also emotions and memories that viewers and participants will cherish. WePlay Esports, in its ten-year history, has hosted and organized over 25 esports events and built a community with over 2 million viewers and subscribers. WePlay Esports has been shortlisted for the 43rd annual Sports Emmy Awards, in the Outstanding Esports Championship coverage category. They are also a finalist for the 2021 Esports Awards Creative Team of the year.
The team is pleased to announce today the beginning of a new business development round as a production firm specializing on content creation for entertainment and gaming. WePlay Studios, with its knowledge of esports and technology and experience in the event industry, is aiming to develop groundbreaking entertainment innovations to enhance the viewers’ experiences and accelerate the development of the industry.
WePlay’s history began in Kyiv, with 12 employees and a shared passion for gaming. In the past 10 years, WePlay has grown to over 150 employees, opened offices in Kyiv and Los Angeles and developed world-class expertise. Our team is now ready to tackle new projects and challenges. We are not abandoning esports – we are pushing the boundaries,” said Yura Lazebnikov.
In line with the new company strategy, WePlay Esports has changed its name and branding to WePlay Studios , reflecting its expansion beyond esports.
WePlay Studios will begin streaming entertainment and gaming events in 2022. WePlay Studios became the strategic partner of the One True King network, and the official production partners for Enthusiast Gaming’s NFL Tuesday Night Gaming. This was a unique gaming collaboration that brought together NFL legends and players with top gaming content creators.
“Through the history of the company, we have tried many different directions, created many different products, and experimented with a variety of things. This has led us to our current business model, which is producing content. Our recognition and awareness have been built around iconic events. WePlay Studios was a logical move for us.
“When you play video games, you are a character who is trying to gain recognition within their community. You can lead that character towards something more significant and bigger. As we play, our team is working towards larger goals. Continuous improvement and evolution is the only way for us to be recognized by the audience. WePlay Studios is ready to impress the public beyond esports. We are prepared to show our commitment to all audiences by prioritizing and encouraging their interests.
Rebranding will be done in a series steps over the next few months: from the naming of the company to updating the visual elements, color palette and corporate website.
