The Gauselmann Group’s compliance officers gathered for a workshop at the company’s Schloss Benkhausen Training Centre in Espelkamp. The event, which lasted two days, focused on the ever-growing number of laws, regulations, and sources of law to avoid risks as well as the new ways of acting for the international Gauselmann Group’s many markets. Participants from 12 countries gathered at the castle for presentations and working group discussions to update each other on a wide range of topics.
Many current challenges facing the corporate group, from risk management to ESG and whistleblower systems for reporting compliance violations were on the agenda. Participants were also interested in other topics, such as the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act and regulations for the protection of Human Rights, as well player protection measures and responsible gaming.
“It’s obvious that regulatory authorities continue to increase and refine the requirements for our sector – not only in Germany, but globally. Our compliance officers must be on top of the latest developments and constantly up-to-date to ensure they can meet challenges in a reliable and legal manner. Ludwig Beckmann is the Chief Compliance Officer of Gauselmann AG. He said, “We are proud and happy to have an international team of compliance officers who are highly trained and professional. They are committed to this important task.”
Compliance managers from Germany attended the workshop. They also came from Spain, Croatia and Austria. The workshop was the fifth of its kind, since the group’s compliance management system was introduced in 2014.
