India’s female CS:GO Team performed at their best to defeat Sri Lanka convincingly in the South Asian Qualifier and advance to the IESF Asian Championship, which will be held in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, from July 10-17 2023.

Sri Lanka was beaten by a team led by Swayambika Sagar (Sway), which included Nidhhi Salekar, Shagufta iqbal, Dilraj Kaur Mataru (COCO), Aastha Nangia (CrackShot), by a score of 16-3 and 16-0.

The team won the series with a flawless and efficient display on both maps. This was made possible by the brilliance of each member of their roster, who helped them to completely dominate the competition.

Swayambika Sackar, the captain of the Indian CS:GO female team, stated: “We’re extremely proud that we have qualified for the Asian qualifiers, and represent India with all the top teams on the continent. This is an incredible achievement for us all, and our performance against Sri Lanka at the South Asia Regionals was fantastic. We have made significant improvements in the past few months, and are always working to improve our gameplay through strategizing. We are determined to compete at our best in the offline qualifying rounds in Riyadh, and to qualify for the Grand Finals held in Romania.

The five-member team made history when they became the first all-female CS:GO squad to qualify for South Asian regional qualifiers after defeating Team Purrple in the finals of National Esports Championships 2023, held by the Esports Federation of India earlier this year.

The teams will face female CS:GO outfits in Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong to try to qualify for World Esports Championships 15 (WEC 15) to be held in Iasi, Romania from August 24 to Sept. 4, 2023.

“Our female CS:GO squad has grown in leaps and bounds since the NESC2023. Their success at the South Asian qualifiers are a testament to this. The journey they have taken so far is an inspiration to all women in India who are interested in a career in Esports. We wish them continued success as they prepare for the Asian Championship and we are confident that their abilities will allow them to advance to the WEC 15th.

India’s DOTA 2 squad, which includes Manav Knte (mnz), Vishal Vernekar(HBK), Abhishek Yadav(Abhi-), Shahbaz Hussain (“PinkMaN”), Krish Gupta (“Krish”) and Jaikishan Malik “KaEL”, will begin their South Asian qualifying matches on May 15.

The Indian CSGO (Open) Team, consisting of Harsh Jain(f1redup), Jaspreet (SpawN), Sadab (SK wow), Piyush (clouda), Nikhil Kathe(N1kace), and Omkar Thube(omkar09), has already secured its place at the Asian Regionals in May.

Abhinav Tejan, a Tekken 7 pro, and Ibrahim Gulrez, an eFootball player, have both already qualified for the 15th WEC, which has a prize pool of $500k (INR 4,12 crore) and will be the biggest edition to date, with 130 countries taking part in eFootball DOTA 2, Tekken7 Mobile Legends PUBG Mobile, CS:GO and Mobile Legends.
